GPR Survey for the Makkah Warehouses Fire Station Construction Project

GPR Survey for the Makkah Warehouses Fire Station Construction Project

Makkah

Project Overview

ASAS Lab performed a ground-penetrating radar (GPR) survey for the Makkah Warehouses Fire Station construction project, for Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) under SYSTRA's supervision. The non-destructive survey supported planning by indicating possible buried services and helping reduce the risk of accidental damage during subsequent site work.

Scope of Work

Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) survey to detect buried utilities and services for SAR's Makkah Warehouses Fire Station construction project.

Project parties

Owner: Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR). Consultant: SYSTRA. Contractor: Al Wajihat Al Gharbiyah (شركة الواجهات الغربية). This assignment was among ASAS Lab's first projects with SAR.

How GPR supports planning

The survey targeted buried utilities using a non-destructive method that does not require excavation for the survey itself. Locating services and utility routes supports design and construction decisions and helps reduce the risk of damage during subsequent excavation work.
