Project Overview

The Slab Load Test evaluates a concrete slab's actual performance by measuring maximum deflection under specified loads, using digital displacement gauges mounted beneath the slab and cement bags as a distributed test load.

Scope of Work

Slab load testing carried out by mounting digital displacement gauges beneath the slab on scaffolding, applying a distributed cement-bag test load, and measuring maximum deflection under specified loads to verify the slab can safely carry its design loads.

When Is a Slab Load Test Needed?

The Slab Load Test is used to evaluate the actual performance of a concrete slab and measure the maximum deflection under specified loads.

Cases That May Require the Test

• Low 28-day concrete compressive strength results and rejected Core test results. • Irregular pours or influential Cold Joints. • Cracks appearing due to loads exceeding the design loads. • Fire exposure that damaged or degraded the concrete slab. • Doubt about the slab's ability to safely carry the design loads.
