Concrete masonry units are widely used in Makkah from multi-story load-bearing walls to sacred site boundary structures. Units must comply with SASO GSO 68 standards. ASAS Lab tests compressive strength (≥ 7.5 MPa load-bearing, ≥ 4.0 MPa partition), water absorption, dimensional tolerance, and wear resistance for interlock pavers used in Hajj pathways. Certified reports are accepted by Makkah Municipality for building permit files.

FAQ About Blocks, Interlock & Curbstones Testing
SASO 1006 requires minimum compressive strength of 7 MPa for load-bearing blocks and 4 MPa for non-load-bearing. Interlock pavers must achieve minimum 35 MPa per ASTM C936.
